This conference highlighted the opportunities, challenges and issues for both suppliers and consumers of industrial gas. The conference also addressed some of the most important issues and updated the players in the region with the latest trends, in technology and markets.

The Middle East has natural resources that are geared to the oil and gas industry and downstream products. Low energy costs in the past have also led to the development of high energy processes being established, such as steel and aluminium production. Despite tighter economic circumstances, the Middle East is still attracting investment in basic raw materials and very much value-added downstream products.

All these industries are facing challenges to become more efficient, be more environmentally focused and develop new and existing uses for by-product gases. The industrial gases industry is well placed to support consumers in addressing these issues.

The Middle East is an emerging market for the industrial gases industry. With huge natural gas and oil reserves in Abu Dhabi, the time had come to discuss the region's economy, market direction and expansion of the industry and gasworld delivered exactly that.

The conference has now come to an end, but you can access news items and more at the gasworld Blog.

Presentations and videos from the event will soon be available for download from the gasworld website, stay tuned!
