The 2011 edition of the Gulf Coast Conference, which provides attendees with information about the latest in petro-chemical, refining, environmental, and industrial hygiene, was held on October 11th and 12th at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas.

The Gulf Coast Conference is a non-profit organization oriented toward the education and advancement of knowledge of chemical analysis in these fields. In addition, the Gulf Oil Spill Symposium, which started last year, offered several discussions.

The show once again had increased participation over the previous year in all areas, as shown in the table, right. Of special interest is that this show had a substantially higher percentage of attendees vs. the number of exhibit personnel – usually exhibit personnel equal or exceed attendees. Also, the number of paid attendees almost equals those that just came for the exhibits. This speaks well for the quality of the presentations.
