New BCGA Technical Manager appointed

The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has announced that Jake (Peter) Lake will be joining the association as Technical Manager with effect from 1st October 2011.

Originally an aircraft engineer in the Royal Navy, Lake is well known to many BCGA Members as the MOD’s current member representative on BCGA committees, their industrial gases ‘guru’ and an active player on a number of standards committees.

Lake will succeed Steve Elliott, who retires at the end of 2011, having served the last 15 years of a 37-year career in the industrial gases business giving sterling service to the BCGA.

“Steve’s were big shoes to fill, but we are sure that Jake is up to the challenge and that Members and external contacts alike will give him a very warm welcome and wish him all the very best in his new role,” a BCGA statement explained.
