New eGAIM Technology from Linde

0

A new gas-assist injection moulding (GAIM) technology from Linde LLC will be demonstrated at the Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Booth W623 during NPE 2015 in Orlando, Florida, from the 23-27 March.

The technology, known as enhanced Gas-Assist Injection Molding (eGAIM), leverages the pressure and cooling attributes of liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) to reduce cycle times by cooling hollow-channelled parts from the inside. The patented eGAIM system has been shown to reduce cooling cycles by 30% or more compared to nitrogen systems.

The Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Systec 280 Servo injection moulding machine demonstration will also be utilising an engineered polycarbonate resin from A. Schulman, Inc. (Fairlawn, Ohio) for the injection moulding of the tubular handles.

Linde is helping plastic injection moulders reduce cycle times, increase production and solve hot spot challenges with advanced CO2 or liquid nitrogensupply and control systems, featured at booth S33188.
