Praxair China has signed a multi-year agreement with MAGI Solar Energy Technology Co. Ltd, to supply bulk and process gases for its solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Jiangsu Province.

Located in the Jiangsu Yixing Economic Development Zone of Jiangsu Province, the MAGI facility uses advanced processing technology to manufacture high efficiency, high quality monocrystalline solar cells and modules.

Such high technology requires reliable supply of bulk and process gases and it’s to that end, that Praxair China will be providing a comprehensive range of gas solutions and related services.

Praxair China President David Chow explained, “We look forward to supporting MAGI Solar’s growth in China. Praxair is well positioned to serve the rapidly growing China solar market with our comprehensive offering of gas products and reliable supply network.”

Ms. Wen Zhang, Managing Director of Magi Solar, enthusiastically added, “The Praxair team helped us meet a tight schedule at our new facility in Jiangsu Province.”

“And Praxair’s service reaches beyond the supply of gases to include safety training on specialty gases handling and advice on complying with local regulations."

Only last week, Praxair China broke ground with a development in another industry, that of copper smelting.

Praxair’s patented Dilute Oxygen Combustion technology was successfully installed for the first time in China, at Jinlong Copper Co. Ltd - the largest copper smelting joint venture in China, located in Tongling City, Anhui Province.

Praxair China’s applications technology team designed, fabricated and installed a complete dual-fuel Dilute Oxygen Combustion system for a 400 tonne anode furnace at Jinlong Copper, replacing an existing air-fired system. The results were fuel savings of more than 60% and a flue gas emissions reduction of more than 70%.
