During the month of September, SaskPower’s carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at the Boundary Dam Power Station captured 64,855 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

The average daily capture rate when CCS was online was 2,402 tonnes with a peak one-day capture rate of 2,578 tonnes.

In total, the facility was online for 88% of the month, coming offline for a total of 86 hours due to issues with electrostatic precipitators.

SaskPower aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% below 2005 levels by 2030.
