In January 2009 around 130 delegates attended the first ever South American industrial gas conference in Santiago, Chile. Two years later, and the events team returned to the region for its seventh global conference.
The conference proved to be of interest to the whole of the gases community and beyond, with up to 150 delegates converging on the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio de Janeiro to attend the event.
The event again provided a forum for prominent speakers from all sectors of our community to present papers and discuss/debate/converse.
The main themes included:
The Rapid Growth of the Mining and Metals Processing Sector
On-Shore and Off-Shore Developments in the Oil & Gas Sector
Supply Chain Efficiency and Technology Trends
Gas Applications - Drivers for Growth
Safety - International Harmonisation of Standards
Pavel Perlov, Global Director of Business and Development at Electronic Fluorocarbons LLC, said, “I’ve been to around five gasworld conferences and all have been extremely successful forums. At this event, like any other gasworld conference, it offers the chance to gain new contacts with regards to sales but also it offers the very valuable tool of discussion - discussing both new business opportunities and new technologies.”
