The commercial industrial gas market in Belarus generated revenues of $22 million in 2015. This is up from $4 million in 2005, indicating an impressive average annual growth rate of 19.1% p.a.

Belarus is currently under the control of a dictatorial government, which is stunting the economy and growth in a number of areas. Over the past decade (2005-2015), GDP increased by approximately 4.2% on average annually (inflation adjusted). Economic growth did slow during the financial crisis of 2008-09, but did not decline like other global economies. Since 2011, growth has been slow in Belarus, with GDP shrinking by -3.9% in 2015.
