The commercial industrial gas market in Slovakia is estimated to have generated revenues of €122m ($135m) in 2016. This is up from €89 ($98 million) in 2006, indicating an average annual growth rate of 3.2% for the decade.
Between 2006-2016, GDP in Slovakia grew by an average of 6.3% p.a. (inflation adjusted). This period of expansion was briefly interrupted in 2009, when GDP contracted by over 5% due to the global financial crisis. Since the recession, Slovakia has been witness to one of the strongest and most stable recoveries in the euro area.
