UK-based Scientific and Technical Gases (StG) has continued to expand its operations with the opening of a new 1.5-acre gas mixing facility as part of a phased investment over the next three years that will also include a new 1,000m2 manufacturing facility in 2015/16.
The expansion is part of the company’s plans to become a world leader in the manufacture of specialist gases and liquids.
Total planned investment over the period will amount to in excess of £1.7 million ($2.6 million) while it is understood that the further investment in specialist facilities to become a world leader will take this figure to more than £2 million ($3 million) and create over 30 new jobs in the process.
In addition, StG has signed an agreement with Bristol Fire Engineering, part of the Corodex Group based in Dubai, for the establishment of a specialty gas plant in Dubai to service the whole of the Middle East region. Under the agreement, StG will provide much of the specialist technology and knowledge for the operation, which will start manufacturing in September 2013.
Electronic Fluorocarbons (EFC), headquartered in Massachusetts, utilizes the latest technology for the purification and microanalysis of its legacy fluorinated specialty gases and rare gases for the medical and electronics semiconductor manufacturing industries.
As we head in to 2018, we look back on a very interesting changing market for krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe) and neon (Ne) in 2017. Ne supply this year continued to increase as new plants came on-stream while the demand was growing slowly after the big decline of 2016.
