Global Gases has announced the appointment of Phil Kornbluth, one of the industrial gas industry’s leading helium experts, to the role of Senior Vice-President, Global Gases Americas effective 11thFebruary (2013).

In his new role, Kornbluth will have responsibility for developing and overseeing Global Gases’ specialty gases business based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He will also take on global responsibility for sourcing of helium and rare gases and will be a member of the Global Gases Group’s Board of Directors, gasworld understands.

Deepak Mehta, Global Gases’ Managing Director, stated, “We are very excited that Phil has joined the Global Gases team. He brings over 30 years of experience from both BOC and Matheson and we expect him to make a big impact at Global Gases. Moreover, we hope that Phil’s decision to join Global Gases will help us to attract other top talent from the industry as we continue to expand our business.”

Kornbluth himself added, “I have a long business and personal relationship with the Mehta family dating back to the mid-1980s. I am looking forward to working with Deepak Mehta and the Global Gases team and hope to contribute to the continued rapid growth of the company.”
