Gulf Cryo celebrated its 60th anniversary in style recently, by attending the 2013 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit and also hosting a gala dinner in Kuwait.
Guests included shareholders, customers, suppliers, business partners, bankers, friends and family.
Around 200 guests were invited to watch the Formula 1 (F1) event from the Yas Marina circuit onboard a yacht. The three-day celebrations lasted all day from 1st – 3rd November, including all practice and qualifying sessions and the full grand prix race itself.
The company also held a small cake-cutting ceremony while at the event, with a speech given from Chairman Amer Huneidi.
Meanwhile the gala dinner was held a week later on the 10th November at the Hotel Missoni Kuwait. Guests were awed by a sand show presentation, highlighting the story of Gulf Cryo from its inception in 1953 to present day and emphasising the regional scope that the group has reached.
Huneidi welcomed guests and thanked all key stakeholders for their continued support, commenting, “Even though the region had its political and economic ups and downs, we were determined to grow in our region and as of today, Gulf Cryo operates in 11 countries with 30 production and distribution sites.”
“Our production jumped from less than three tonnes per day (tpd) to close to 3,000 tpd run by over 1,000 professionals from 26 different nationalities. Our ability to respond quickly to changes in the market, creating new opportunities for long-term growth and make the strategic investments necessary to increase our competitiveness over the long-term are the reasons behind our success.”
As for the future, Huneidi added, “We know the future of our company will rely on our commitment to performance and dependability on safety, guaranteeing superior quality and adding value to our customers, allowing our staff to develop to their fullest potential, and continue to invest in the long-term value of our group.”
