Hummingbird Sensing Technology, a Servomex company, has announced the appointment of Dominic Corsale as General Manager.
Described as ‘one of the most respected professionals’ working in healthcare technology, the appointment of Corsale is seen as a key development for the company and the exciting potential that it has.
Hummingbird is a leading manufacturer of gas sensing technologies for medical and industrial markets.
Corsale brings to Hummingbird a wealth of experience gained through 35 years pioneering medical sensing technologies. His achievements include the development of respiratory gas measurement products that significantly reduce patient risk, the development of the SARA multiplex mass spectrometer system and the founding of Marquette Gas Analysis, whose products have incorporated Hummingbird sensors.
Having helped establish multi-gas monitoring within operating theatres, Corsale has reportedly been instrumental in expanding CO2 monitoring outside the surgical environment to include use in resuscitation and medical transport.
He joins Hummingbird at a pivotal point in its development, as the business builds on what it describes as the ‘exceptional success’ achieved since it launched in 2010. This growth has been facilitated by the success of the company’s Paracube range, an advanced series of compact, non-depleting paramagnetic oxygen sensors which bring industry-leading performance and cost-of-ownership benefits to medical and industrial OEM markets.
Corsale succeeds former business manager Martin Cox, who is moving to parent company Servomex to assume the role of General Manager, Americas.
“I am delighted to join Hummingbird Sensing Technology and excited by the potential we have to expand our presence within gas sensing markets,” said Corsale.
“The innovative mindset and extensive applications knowledge of the Hummingbird team will bring the proven benefits of our sensor technologies to new customers and new markets.”
