Clean-tech company McPhy Energy has been recognised for its innovation in the field of hydrogen storage with an award from The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS).
TMS recognised more than 60 of its members with division-level awards during the Society’s 142nd Annual Meeting & Exhibition held in San Antonio, Texas from 3rd – 7th March 2013.
The awards recognise outstanding contributions and excellence within each of the Society’s five technical divisions: Electronic, Magnetic & Photonic Materials Division; Extraction & Processing Division; Light Metals Division (LMD); Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division; and Structural Materials Division.
McPhy Energy was awarded the ‘LMD Magnesium Technology Best Paper Award – Application’ and Adamo Screnci, McPhy’s Chief Commercial Officer, reflected in a statement, “It rewards the hard job made by McPhy to succeed into the industrialisation of magnesium hydride used as hydrogen storage.”
“We have spent more than 10 years of R&D together with French national institutes (CNRS and CEA) to come up with innovative solutions to store hydrogen for the industry and energy markets. We hope that this award will improve our reputation and fasten our business development in the Green Hydrogen Economy.”
