MOCON, Inc. has created four global business units to better support its international footprint.
The four business units (and their headquarters) are: Permeation (Minneapolis); Package Testing (Ringsted, Denmark); Industrial Analysers (Lyons, Colorado); and Microbial Detection (Minneapolis).
The news comes after a progressive period of acquisition activity for the company.
Over the past 15 years, MOCON has acquired multiple companies including Microanalytics, Baseline, Lippke, and more recently, Denmark’s PBI-Dansensor.
The company has grown from a manufacturer of permeation equipment for packaging applications into also providing products and services for food safety, medical device, pharmaceuticals, mud logging, gas monitoring, aroma/odour analysis and more.
“This reorganisation has been driven by organic growth, coupled with our recent acquisitions. By realigning our product portfolio, we will be better able to provide targeted product and service solutions, regardless of where in the world our customers are located. Our goal is to think globally and act locally,” said Don DeMorett COO of MOCON.
“MOCON and its subsidiaries sell products and services in six continents and more than 75 countries. The creation of the four global business units, which will be supported by significant regional operations and distributors around the world, will provide consistent quality and service to our global client base,” DeMorett added.
