With over a decade of experience in the field of pressurised electrolyser technology, and four years of field testing, NEL Hydrogen has now released a new generation of pressurised alkaline technology with the launch of the electrolyser NEL P•60.
NEL P•60 is a compact turnkey hydrogen plant that can be delivered as a containerised solution or skid-mounted for indoor installation.
It produces hydrogen at high purities with an outlet pressure of 15 bar g and a maximum capacity of 60 Nm3 of hydrogen per hour from one single electrolyser cell stack.
NEL Hydrogen explains that the main performance feature differentiating this electrolyser from others is the extreme operational flexibility that allows production down to 10% of installed capacity, with automatic stand-by mode, and instant resumption of hydrogen production even after long stand-by periods.
“Our experience with regards to new hydrogen applications such as the power-to-gas and hydrogen fuelling market is that the full value of applying water electrolysers are not met with the current generation of electrolysers,” said CEO Torgeir Meland Landaas, in a statement announcing the product’s launch.
The NEL P•60 is developed to specifically handle the requirements for flexible operation for these applications, and to a great extent outperforms current available technology. NEL Hydrogen is confident that the solution it now provides will bring the value of renewable energy systems of its clients to new levels – and as such, enable acceleration of the development of environmental friendly energy projects.
The electrolyser is a perfect match for projects within the field of power-to-gas, hydrogen fuelling stations and industrial applications with variable hydrogen demand.
NEL Hydrogen is a Norwegian company based in Notodden and Sandefjord, Norway. In June 2011 the company name changed from Hydrogen Technologies to NEL Hydrogen, as a consequence of change in ownership structure.
