With the recent news of a changing of the guard ahead at both The Linde Group and Air Products, further management updates have been announced in the US and Europe, by Airgas, A-Gas and Westfalen, respectively.

Airgas, Inc. has reorganised its Southwest distribution region into two separate regions, effective 1st November, now divided into the Gulf Coast region headquartered in Houston and the Southwest region, headquartered in Dallas.

Jason Favre, currently an area Vice-President within Airgas’ Southwest region, has been named President of the Gulf Coast region, which includes coastal Texas and Louisiana. Brent Sparks, President of Airgas’ Southwest region, has been named President of the newly defined Southwest region, which includes the rest of Texas to the north, east and west of Dallas, and New Mexico.

“We continue to be optimistic about the long-term prospects for the US manufacturing and energy industries, as well as non-residential construction, and this area of the country is expected to see significant growth,” said Michael Molinini, Airgas President and CEO. “We’re adding resources to further strengthen our position and ability to capitalise on the opportunities that lie ahead. This reorganisation will enable us to focus more fully on the unique needs of the industries in each of these regions.”

Meanwhile, the Westfalen group is facing up to the ‘advanced management challenges of the future’ with a redefining of personnel at the top.

Senior management includes Wolfgang Fritsch Albert (Chairman), Albert Renate Fritsch (Chairman of the Board of Management Staff), Reiner Ropohl (Chief Sales Officer) and Dr. Carsten Wilken (CFO), while additions to the Executive Board include Gerhard Schlüter (wire), Thomas Beinlich (Head of Energy Supply), Bernd Balink (Head of Gases Domestic), Lutz Markowic (Head of Gases Abroad), Holger Laugisch (Head of Service Stations), Rolf Glahn (Head of Personnel) and Peter Hardebeck (Head of IT).

At Bristol, UK-based A-Gas International, Brett Fraser has been appointed as Regional Business Development Director, assisting in the refinement of the company’s strategic business plans and driving growth opportunities in Australia, Asia and the Americas.

Fraser will be based at A-Gas’ recently opened office in South Yarra, Melbourne (Australia) and the role builds on his previous experience in the specialty gases and chemicals business with Arkema Fluorochemicals and the Arkema/Daikin joint venture.
