No less than six businesses have become part of the Airgas portfolio, after a busy summer’s acquisition activity for the company which saw combined annual (2011) revenues of up to $17 million added to the Radnor, PA-based player.
On August 1, Airgas USA acquired the assets and operations of Terjan Co, which was doing business as Valley Welding and Industrial Supply, based in Bakersfield, CA. The company’s 14 associates, along with the Bakersfield location, which accommodates cylinder filling and warehousing operations, are now part of Airgas USA, West region.
Airgas USA also purchased the assets and operations of AEON Corporation on August 1, trading as Ferguson Industrial Gases, an industrial gas and welding supply distributor in Texas. The company and its 17 associates and four locations are now part of Airgas USA north’s Southwest region, enhancing Airgas’ distribution footprint in the greater Dallas area.
On the same day, Mountain Welding Supply joined Airgas USA’s Northern California and Nevada region effective August 1.
Earlier, on July 2, FL-based carbon dioxide and dry ice distributor Carbonic Group joined Airgas Carbonic and with locations in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and Miami, the group’s 36 associates and more than 40 years of experience will further enhance Airgas’ strong presence in those regions.
Reese Oxygen & Hydro-Testing joined Airgas National Welders in July, bringing with it a 30-year history of serving medical and industrial gas customers in greater Gibsonville, NC. And Red-D-Arc Limited, an Airgas company, has also acquired the Chicoutimi, Quebec location of Soudogaz – a privately-held business based in Canada that sells, services, and rents used welding and positioning equipment.
