Praxair Inc. broke ground on its new 600 tons per day ASU in Memphis, TN recently, set to become the company’s fourth plant in the Memphis area and scheduled to start-up in Q2 2013.
The existing three units that the company operates in the area supply a number of customers including Nucor Corporation and Valero Energy Corporation, with the new ASU set to support both the current and projected industrial growth in the region.
Kevin Foti, East Region vice-president for Praxair’s US industrial gases business, commented, “Praxair’s new plant will further strengthen Praxair’s supply position in the greater Southeast region, allowing us to meet future demand from companies attracted to the area’s business-friendly environment.”
“As the only fully integrated gas supplier in the US, our ability to deliver everything from cylinder gases for welding or research to bulk and onsite gases for manufacturing is a plus for companies in the Southeast,” he added.
Praxair also recently started-up a plant and commissioned a pipeline capable of serving multiple customers in the Riverport area.
