Pittsburgh, PA-based TrackAbout Inc., today announced that it has been chosen by Roberts Oxygen Company to manage its current gas cylinder tracking requirements.
The company will implement the TrackAbout Core Tracking and Maintenance modules, as well as Follow-On Tracking®, which will provide its customers with the ability to track and manage cylinders onsite at individual locations.
Roberts Oxygen is seeking to improve business performance by more effectively managing the deployment of cylinders with a modern asset tracking system.
In one project in particular, the company will be utilizing the TrackAbout solution to fulfill the demanding requirements of a recently awarded contract with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, NIST is one of the nation’s oldest physical science laboratories and is responsible for establishing and providing standards of all types, including gas reference standards.
Joseph Bertone, operations project manager for Roberts Oxygen, said, “We performed the proper due diligence and confirmed that TrackAbout offers the best solution for our needs. While we look forward to achieving a variety of efficiencies, we were particularly attracted to the Follow-On Tracking module as we’re beginning to see customers requiring such a tool.”
TrackAbout CEO Tim Fusco added, “TrackAbout can be an effective sales tool for our clients whose customers are beginning to demand tracking abilities in order to do business. Follow-On Tracking enables distributors and customers to have a single, unified view of account information by electronically sharing the asset data.”
“Distributors know the exact location of their assets within the customer site, which is important when managing product recalls or performing a customer audit. Customers gain a higher degree of visibility and control over asset data, enabling them to manage and monitor assets proactively and improve overall business efficiency.”
