With Chris Cottrell retiring from his position after six years of leading Servomex through an unprecedented period of growth and success, the company has announced the appointment of Charles ‘Chuck’ Hurley to the position of managing director.

Cottrell, 65, is stepping down from his position to spend more time with his family and continue professionally with a number of non-executive positions.

Hurley, 39, took over the role from July 8 and is a former director of service with Zellweger Analytics and VP Service of Honeywell Analytics. He joined Servomex in 2008 as general manager, Americas, before being promoted to director of Sales and Marketing in 2012.

In his new position, Hurley will bring his proven experience in top-level strategic management to a global team of 375 staff, based in two technical centers and six regional business centers. He is also relocating to the UK as part of the role, where he will run operations from Servomex’s UK Technical Center in Crowborough, East Sussex.

“I am delighted to take up the position of managing director at Servomex, building on the success achieved by Chris to lead us to the next stage of our development,” enthused Hurley.

“Servomex has ambitious goals as we continue to grow presence and market share, with initiatives and innovations that will continue to place the customer at the very center of our business focus. Leading Servomex forward is a great honor and I look forward to be part of its future success.”

The outgoing Cottrell’s achievements since joining Servomex in 2008 include leading the company to establish a global network of business centers and the building of a new state-of-the-art Technical Center in the UK. Under his leadership Servomex also completed the acquisitions of the Contrôle Analytique and Delta F analyzer businesses and their integration into the group. He reflected, “It has been a privilege to be part of the Servomex team at such a pivotal time in its development.”

“The ongoing growth of the business is a source of great satisfaction and I thank all my colleagues across the world for their enthusiasm and support in bringing us to where we are today – the world expert in gas analysis.
