Onsite gas generation – Medical meets sustainable?

0

Often, industrial gases are not available in the right quality at decentralised locations. Furthermore, many valuable waste streams are released in diluted form. For these applications, a need for onsite gas purification exists.

Point of use gas generation and purification is particularly pertinent in medical applications right now, as healthcare systems in the developed world come under sustained financial pressures and margins are squeezed, and infrastructure develops in remote and/or emerging economies. Users are evaluating the efficiencies of their operations and there’s an increasing focus on added value in gas delivery.

Factors in favour of onsite gas generation include flexibility of supply, cost benefits depending on the user’s requirements, reduced cylinder handling, and even environmental impact. Technology continues to mature in this supply mode, especially when thinking of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems, and a plethora of companies offer solutions in onsite gas generation. Now, with the release of its own Gas Purification Systems (GPS), HyGear joins that illustrious list of technology providers.
