enfinium agrees deal to provide power from forthcoming Leeds plant


UK energy-from-waste operator enfinium has signed a three-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Engie, to provide electricity from its latest facility in Leeds.

Under the agreement, enfinium’s Skelton Grange facility will supply around 390 GWh of electricity per year over a three-year period from 2025, when it becomes operational this summer.

Wayne Robertson, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer of enfinium, said, “This agreement highlights the benefits of using society’s unrecyclable waste to generate reliable, homegrown energy to power British homes and businesses.”

Once operational, it will divert up to 410,000 tonnes of unrecyclable waste from emissions-intensive landfill every year.
