Grand Isle LNG unveils LNG export facility plans in the US

Grand Isle LNG has unveiled plans for a LNG export facility to produce competitively priced product in the federal waters of the West Delta Blocks, Louisiana.

The US LNG firm said it hopes to have the site up and running in 2026, with construction planned to be carried out in two phases.

Once complete, the plant will consist of a crew quarters platform, two gas treatment platforms, two 2.1 million tonnes per annum liquefaction platforms, one terminal oxidiser platform, and two 155,000 cubic meter storage and offloading vessels.

Robert Shivers, CEO of Grand Isle LNG, commented, “Significant benefits of the proposed LNG export facility are that it will provide affordable clean energy and generate long-term, good paying jobs throughout the Gulf South.”
