Moses Lake Industries opens semiconductor R&D site in Arizona
Chemistry-for-electronics company Moses Lake Industries has opened a semiconductor manufacturing and research facility in Mesa, Arizona.
The 50,000 sq ft facility will advance semiconductor material development, including high-purity electrolyte solutions and copper-based materials used in new technologies.
Moses Lake Industries already has plans to expand the facility in the future.
Hiro Era, President and CEO of Moses Lake, described the opening as a significant milestone for the company.
“Arizona’s robust semiconductor ecosystem, skilled workforce, and strategic advantages make it an ideal foundation for our continued expansion.”
According to the Arizona Commerce Authority, since 2020 the US state has won more than 50 semiconductor expansions, representing over $205bn in capital investment and over 25,000 direct industry jobs.
The city of Mesa, for example, now supports a large semiconductor cluster comprising more than 25 firms.
Mesa Council’s Jenn Duff added, “[This] manufacturing and R&D centre is a big win – not only for our economy but also for our city’s future. This facility means great new jobs, increased collaboration, and puts Mesa right at the heart of the semiconductor industry’s growth.”
