Western Australia to establish council to map future for renewable hydrogen

The Western Australian (WA) Government has revealed plans to establish a council to drive opportunities for a 21st century renewable hydrogen (H2) industry in the state.

The Renewable Hydrogen Council will comprise of experts from the private and public sectors to provide guidance on ways to progress the industry and shape the future for a new sector for WA.

“This government is pushing for innovation, diversification and bold new ways to develop clean energies, grow exports and drive new job opportunities across regional WA,” explained Premier Mark McGowan.

“As the world continues to transition to a low-emissions future, it is increasingly apparent that H2 can play an important role – and WA can be central to that future.”
