Nolek – Partners in leak testing
Nolek was founded in 1973 and today is a leading total solution provider of leak testing, proof testing, leak detection, helium charging and recovery and non-destructive testing equipment.
From its inception, Nolek has been involved in developing industry leak standards and has contributed to many of the industrial leak detection developments. Its technical excellence and wealth of experience allows the company to provide effective and efficient solutions for its customers operating across a range of industries.
Nolek has always worked with quality and value as its guiding principle – and this is reflected in the reputation and reliability of its products and services. Nolek is both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. The company’s primary driver is not to be a supplier, but a partner to its customers; as partners working together to achieve and improve the customer’s quality standards.
Leak detection
Leak detection today is used in many applications ranging from heavy industrial requirements like those found on oil platforms to the most demanding applications in the medical, science, and space related field.
While at first glance many applications look simple, at a deeper level they can be more complex in nature, many requiring different test modes or perhaps product redesigns when from a physical standpoint they do not allow the required test method.
Currently there is a global consciousness on the importance of the environment and a concerted effort to reduce the impact on future generations. Due to this, many products must meet stringent specifications and international standards. Leak testing, and specifically helium leak testing, plays an important part in achieving that, but since it involves an additional step in the production process, ultimately it adds cost. In partnership with its customers, Nolek works to define the correct test method that allows for the right ratio between equipment cost, productivity and quality.
Often Nolek is already involved in the prototype stages of its customer’s product development programme to assure the product will meet the specific leak testing requirements when it goes into mass-production. Nolek utilises all available technologies within leak detection, leak testing and proof testing, and has excellent know-how of all measurement methods (for example pressure measurement, flow measurement and gas/helium measurement).
Conventional pressure and flow measurement methods are offered for most applications. However, if technical conditions or stringent requirements need to be met, the helium method is used. Nolek can design and produce anything from small simple fixtures to large advanced inline systems.

Guidance and management
In addition to building test systems, Nolek can provide customers with guidance throughout the entire process ranging from product design advice (to make it compatible with the objected leak test requirements) to assistance with maintenance, service and calibration.
As managing ‘production data’ and ‘data collection’ are vital in leak testing, Nolek has developed its own proprietary software called mosCura™. mosCura™ will set a new industry standard and help customers to:
- Monitor and control production lines
- Increase yield and overall efficiency
- Provide an advanced database collection tool that will facilitate increasing product traceability requirements.
The mosCura™ software platform is highly adaptable and flexible and can handle a vast array of production equipment (not just leak test systems). The platform is built in MVC 4.0 and is entirely web-based giving you the freedom to access data from any web browser.
Expansion
In the past 10 years Nolek has undergone a significant global expansion. From one manufacturing and support facility based in the southern part of Stockholm Sweden, the company now has direct sales and service offices in Malaysia, the US, Denmark and Hungary. It is also supported by local distributors worldwide.
In addition to the manufacturing facility in Sweden, in 2013 Nolek also built a new state-of-the-art plant in Malaysia, ensuring it is uniquely qualified to support customers with a global manufacturing footprint.
