California gets another H2 station
The College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at California State University, Los Angeles, officially opened its Hydrogen Research and Fueling Facility and the College Open House, operated using Hydrogenics Technology.
The facility is the largest university-operated hydrogen plant of its kind in the US and Hydrogenics installed one HySTAT-30 electrolyser that provides 65kg of Hydrogen every day.
Cal State LA’s Hydrogen Research and Fueling Facility will be “utilised for research, teaching and advancing clean transportation technologies, as well as dispensing fuel to hydrogen fuel cell vehicle users,” the university says.
The station is just a couple miles from downtown Los Angeles and its vortex of highways, so it may become a cog in the long-awaited Hydrogen Highway.
Officials at the event included representatives from the university itself, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the US Department of Energy, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
