Shanghai Huaxi Chemical Industry Science and Technology Co. Ltd in China recently announced that it has signed a contract with Jiangsu Weiming Petrochemical Co. Ltd for the delivery of a 12,000 Nm3/h hydrogen plant.
Hydrogen will be generated from conversion of natural gas, produced to supply the caprolactam plant of Jiangsu Weiming, a subsidiary of the Taiwan China Petrochemical Development Corporation (CPDC).
The plant is also the first investment project of CPDC in caprolactam in China. Shanghai Huaxi won the contract through a strict competitive bidding process with comparison of technology, commercial and project references.
Shanghai Huaxi says that the project is a good start for the company for 2015, and opens up the Taiwan petrochemical market for it in the future.
German gas generation plant specialists, Caloric GmbH, has been awarded two separate contracts to supply methanol cracking plants to customers in both China and Turkmenistan.
