$5.4 million awarded to man brain damaged in explosion

A jury has awarded $5.4 million to a man brain-damaged in an explosion at Air Liquide Process and Construction in Geismar, USA.

The incident took place in September 1999 when a test caused an explosion. Debris struck Felicien Sanchez on his face fracturing bones and causing brain damage.

Much of the money is to cover his future medical and personal care expenses.
