Mexico report
Mexico is the thirteenth largest country in terms of land area and the third largest in Latin America. According to the International Energy Agency, Mexico was the first large oil-producing emerging economy to adopt climate legislation in 2012.
Additionally, the country has witnessed growth in renewable electricity generation from wind and solar, which almost tripled from 2015 to 2022.
The current population of Mexico is estimated to be around 131.7 million.
