Refrigerant gas supply company A-Gas has announced the appointment of a new Operations Manager for its Rapid Recovery service.

The Rapid Recovery teams are mobile units which remove and recover large quantities of refrigerant before being sent to A-Gas reprocessing centres where the gas undergoes chemical analysis and contaminant cleaning.

The cleaned refrigerant is then passed through the company’s reclamation and separation plant to create a product that matches the virgin refrigerant specification and returned to the market in line with the AHRI 700 standard.

Heading up this process will be new hire Jake Matthews who, as Operations Manager will be leading the recovery team.

“I will be leading a team of A-Gas Rapid Recovery engineers working across the UK,” he commented.

“A-Gas Rapid Recovery, the F-Gas compliant on-site recovery service, is a good example of how refrigerant recovery can be made easy.”

According to A-Gas, the reclaimed refrigerant is quota free and gases saved from disposal and returned to the market also reduce raw material usage, energy consumption and unnecessary transport normally associated with virgin production.

Excited about the prospect of his new role, Matthews added, “I am really looking forward to being out on the road, sharing my onsite technical knowledge and meeting new customers.”
