Refrigerant gases specialist A-Gas has acquired the assets and business of Japanese refrigerant reclamation and destruction company FUSO, offering A-Gas access to an expanded market.

In addition to its refrigerant services, FUSO also plays a role in Japan’s gas detector market.

The deal will see FUSO transferring its gas reclamation, destruction and gas detection operations into A-Gas’ existing Japan-based business.

Commenting on the acquisition, Jack Govers, Group Chief Executive Officer, A-Gas, said, “This is an exciting expansion of our global business and strengthens our presence in Asia.”

“We are delighted to be able to expand and offer the services we have developed successfully in other global regions to our existing and new customers in Japan.”

The deal provides A-Gas with an opportunity to offer ‘full lifecycle management’ of refrigerants in Japan.

Ken Takise, Managing Director, A-Gas Japan, stated that the Japanese market has been a ‘long term growth target’ for A-Gas.

“We are delighted to acquire a long-standing business in Japan to accelerate our plans in the region,” he added.

In recent years A-Gas has acquired businesses from across the globe, including the Netherlands, the US, Singapore, Germany, Italy, and Australia.
