A-Gas, a specialist in the management of full lifecycle specialty chemicals, has been shortlisted in three categories at the annual RAC Cooling Industry Awards.

The UK branch of the global business has been named as a finalist in both the Refrigeration Product of the Year and the Refrigeration Innovation of the Year categories for its new oil disposal service.

Faye Maddocks, Commercial Manager at A-Gas UK, explained, “We have developed a new process which will allows us – through our wholesalers – to recover contaminated oil in containers, safely and securely. This means that the old oil is disposed of responsibility through a strictly monitored waste management programme at licensed premises. It removes the burden from the contractor, saves time and minimises cost.”

“We are delighted to be one of the finalists. Disposing of contaminated oil is an age-old problem in our industry and we’ve come up with an easy way to help contractors meet their environmental responsibilities.”

In addition, A-Gas International has been shortlisted as a finalist in the International Achievement of the Year category for its new group website.

Now in its 12th year, the RAC Cooling Industry Awards champions the leading innovations and environmental successes in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. This year the awards will take place at the London Hilton in Park Lane on 28th September.
