Air Liquide will participate with its own stand (n.17) and an presentation concerning “The Role of Gas in Additive Manufacturing” at the sixth edition of RM FORUM, the event dedicated to tools, technologies and materials for Additive Manufacturing.
The event will be held on 19th and 20th September at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, Italy.
An innovative production process that allows the creation, starting from 3D models, of finished products with high performance, additive manufacturing – or 3D printing as it is sometimes known – is a productive mode that can be adopted in all types of manufacturing industry. Additive manufacturing has already established itself in highly specialised sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical prosthetics and jewellery production.
It transforms production methods thanks to a reduction in the development and manufacturing times of pieces with high added-value, and is a fast-growing sector with great challenges on the horizon – from the increasing competitiveness of 3D printing technologies to the development of new metal powders.
Air Liquide is part of this production process with the supply of technical gases (argon, nitrogen and helium) in liquid or gaseous form, supporting equipment and services for the printing of metallic and plastic materials. It’s products and services span the entire production chain of additive manufacturing, from the production, storage and distribution of metal powders, to the realisation of the parts (3D printing) and through to the post-treatment processes.
Air Liquide already has several partnerships with leading players in the sector.
The Air Liquide stand will therefore be a place for sharing and comparing with industry operators about these innovative production processes. Andrea Spizzica – ALTEC Expert, Air Liquide South West Europe Cluster – will also provide a presentation entitled, ‘The Role of Gas in Additive Manufacturing’.
Francesco Agostino, General Manager and CEO of Air Liquide Italia, commented, “Participation in RM Forum is a privileged opportunity to meet and discuss with the main players in the sector and with the various industrial companies interested in an innovative and technologically advanced process as advanced as additive manufacturing.”
“For Air Liquide, which makes innovation the engine of its growth, it is essential to be present with its innovative, versatile and dedicated solutions in this sector which opens the way for new industrial applications and the development of new products.”
