Team Afrox is the name, motor-racing is the game. South Africa’s leading industrial gas and welding products supplier, Afrox, is the title sponsor of the newly formed ADF Motorsport racing team – and the company will be proudly displaying this racing relationship at the gasworld African Conference 2008.
As well as sponsoring a promotional space at the conference and sending a number of delegates to attend, Afrox will also exclusively parade one of its sleek and brightly liveried BMW 330i production racing cars at the event, gasworld announces.
Attentive attendees of the ground-breaking conference will be able to see the Team Afrox campaign sponsorship close-up and the attractive BMW 330i model, as driven by former Class A champions Anthony Taylor and Etienne van der Linde.
The sponsorship is seen as an example of the way in which gas companies in Africa are using commercial opportunities to grow and promote their product or enterprise, enhancing market leadership positions in the process. This correlates with the overall theme of the gasworld African conference, to address the many challenges that the region faces both now and in the future. These range from challenges of energy and supply, through to infrastructure and the growth of African gas companies.
A number of speakers have already been confirmed for the event as they discuss and dissect some of these key issues, including delegates from Air Products, Chart Industries, Maghreb Oxygene, Herose, the Spiritus Group, and the Southern African Compressed Gases Association (SACGA).
Time is running out for hopeful delegates to book their place at the conference, with the Earlybird discount deadline passing today (18th April) and only 6 weeks approx. until the curtain raises on this exciting event.
The BMW vehicle set to be on display at the Misty Hills venue, is one of two that are now raced under the banner of Team Afrox following the disbandment of BMW South Africa’s official motorsport division late last year.
The assets of the division were acquired by the ADF Motorsport partnership, which has joined forces with Afrox as the title sponsor, and the team continues to compete in the Bridgestone Production Car Championship – South Africa’s premier motorsport category.
