After the successes of its recent annual seminars, the all Indian association is looking ahead to this year’s event in Thailand, to be held on 3rd and 4th February 2010.
The All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers’ Association (AIIGMA) has revealed it is raising the bar in 2010 with its truly international, 32nd Seminar on Industrial Gases.
Building on the success of previous seminars, this year’s offering will take place in Thailand next month.
AIIGMA is a national representative body of industrial gas manufacturers and allied industries in India, comprising of members from public and private sectors industries.
The association began in 1975 and has grown to around 281 members, including all leading gas manufacturers from India and abroad. It also organises an Annual Seminar in different regions of the country each year.
The 31st National Seminar on Industrial Gases held on 19th and 20th February 2009 at Le Meridien, New Delhi was a stupendous success – with active participation of delegates from India and abroad.
The Seminar was inaugurated by Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India. AIIGMA had also hosted the ISO TC 58 Meeting, held for the first time in India.
Now however, the association is ready to take its seminars one step further. AIIGMA is underway with organisation of the 32nd Seminar on Industrial Gases (32nd SIG), to be held at the Hotel Shangri La in Bangkok.
Raising the bar
The 32nd SIG is expected to attract large participation from all over the world.
With such a strong agenda and so many reasons to attend, it’s easy to see why.
In 2010, AIIGMA has raised the bar further and takes the SIG to an international venue, while also encouraging greater participation from overseas delegates. In addition, the association is keen to point out that India has signed a Free Trade Agreement with ASEAN and also with Thailand.
As a result, there is expected to be a great boost in store for gases and the allied equipment business, at a time when India is already one of the few countries to be posting positive growth rates – amid a backdrop of economic uncertainty.
The Asian country is one of the least affected by recession, to the point where the Prime Minister of India is targeting a healthy 9% growth for 2010.
AIIGMA naturally sees this as a window of opportunity for the industrial gas business and endevaours to provide a window to India & the ASEAN region itself.
High profile delegations are expected, including the Indian Ministry of Industry & Commerce, the Thailand Ministry of Commerce, Senior Government Officials from the Royal Thai Government, and Senior officials from India’s Central & State Governments.
Delegates from the gases business in India, Thailand, Europe, US, Middle East and China will also be attending.
AIIGMA aims to offer a platform for its members to interact with Thai businessmen for mutual gain.
