Air Liquide has announced the two-for-one share split announced in February, will take effect at the opening of the Paris stock exchange on Wednesday.

The par value of the shares will be halved to €5.50 and the number of shares in circulation will double to 241,602,846. The move was approved at the company's AGM on May 9.

Air Liquide said the share split is aimed at improving share accessibility and thereby increasing the number of individual shareholders, notably younger shareholders.
