Air Liquide has designed a new generation high capacity gaseous hydrogen station to fulfil light-duty vehicle market needs in the US.

The industrial gas company today said its enhanced station design, that has the capability of performing simultaneous fills through two fully equipped fuelling positions at 700 bar, will be hitting the US market.

Recognising the continued growth of hydrogen, with over 8,000 fuel cell electric vehicles and 41 operating hydrogen stations in California alone, Air Liquide has said it is focused to meet the demand.

Already in operation across Japan, South Korea and Europe, the station can dispense up to 1,000 kg/day, enough to fill approximately 250 vehicles.

To optimise space, the station has a compact design (typically 24.6m2), reducing the overall footprint and allowing for an easier installation.
