Air Liquide invests a further €25m in Air Separation Unit

The Air Separation Unit (ASU) shall be located in Dalian, Liaoning Province of China. It will have a production capacity of around 800 tonnes of oxygen per day, supplying oxygen and nitrogen to Dongbei Special Steel Group.
Commissioning of the new facility is scheduled to commence in the 3rd quarter of 2011. The contract builds upon an already cooperative relationship between the two firms, which saw an initial long-term gas supply contract signed in 2007.
President of Dongbei Special Steel Group, Zhao Mingyuan, stated, “Dongbei Special Steel is happy to expand its long-term partnership with Air Liquide, which enables us to benefit from its worldwide expertise and secure competitive industrial gases, which are high quality and reliable.”
Jean-Marc de Royere, Senior Vice-President of Asia-Pacific and a member of the Air Liquide Executive Committee, responded, “We want to thank Dongbei Special Steel Group for its renewed trust. This contract attests to our long-term relationship and our ability to support them in their development. Emerging economies are a growth driver of Air Liquide.”
