For the second consecutive year, Air Liquide is taking part in the Monte-Carlo eRally, a motorsport endurance race organised by Monaco Automobile Club, in which only 100% zero-emission, battery and hydrogen H2-powered electric cars are allowed to compete.

Air Liquide has developed a mobile recharging station for this kind of event, to supply the H2 cars competing with the fuel they need. Air Liquide’s teams will be working on the event from the 25th-29th October to supply the H2 and recharge cars at each stage of the race.

Previously reserved exclusively for battery-powered electric vehicles, H2 vehicles have only been allowed to compete in this rally since 2016. Used with a fuel cell, H2 combines with oxygen from the air to produce electricity, with water as the only by-product. These vehicles do not generate any pollution on the point of use.

Air Liquide masters the entire H2 supply chain, from production and storage to distribution and the development of applications for end users, thus contributing to the widespread use of H2 as a clean energy source, for mobility in particular.
