Air Products’ sustainability and corporate citizenship efforts have been recognised once again after being named to Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate CitizensTM List (2017).

This is the sixth consecutive time that the industrial gas corporation has been awarded the accolade, which acknowledges its commitment to corporate responsibility.

Companies that made the list were evaluated on their performance in environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, corporate governance, financial performance and philanthropy and community support initiatives.

Corning Painter, Executive Vice-President – Industrial Gases and Chairman of Air Products’ Sustainability Council said that the Corporate Responsibility award “is an achievement for our employees to be proud of, and recognition of our company’s dedication.”

“We are striving to achieve our company’s strategic Five-Point Plan, and sustainability underpins that strategy,” Painter explained. “Having achieved four of five of our 2015 goals, we have set new 2020 Sustainability goals and continue to seek innovative ways to meet our targets.”

What is the Air Products Five-Point Plan?

Air Products’ sustainability efforts are aligned under its ‘Grow, Conserve and Care’ model, which focuses on traditional economic, environmental and social categories.

It serves dozens of industries by providing gases, technologies and applications solutions that improve customers’ energy efficiency, productivity and environmental performance.

A statement on Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s website said that the companies that “succeed in being transparent, responsible and accountable” earn places on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List.
