Air Products is most commonly known for gaining awards on its home turf in North America, however this time it was the firm’s Scottish plant in Aberdeen that scooped gold.
The Aberdeen facility supplies diving and other specialist gases and equipment to the North Sea’s offshore oil and gas industry. This year, the hub won a Gold Safety Award from the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA).
The accolade was achieved thanks to an impressive health and safety record. Indeed, the firm has notched up 50 consecutive accident-free years. But it wasn’t just the Aberdeen facility that struck gold – so too did the Air Products plant in Siewierz, Poland.
“When it comes to diving gases and gases for use during subsea construction or oil and gas exploration, quality and reliability are crucial,” said Gary Adam, Commercial Manager at Air Products.
“We are supplying these products in a fast-changing business environment, where safety standards are a high priority. For this reason, the Gold Safety Award from EIGA is especially highly prized,$quot; continued Adam.
Air Products has been serving offshore industries for more than 35 years.
