Air Products has announced price increases of between five to 25 per cent on a range of gases.
The increases – which take effect from July 15 – are on liquid and bulk oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen and helium and are primarily related to production, feedstock and distribution cost increases.
Prices are also set to increase on its hazardous materials charge to $20 per delivery. The company says the increase reflects the additional costs and investments related to enhanced security and compliance activities.
Air Products recently instituted an argon recovery charge of $3 per 1,000 scf, to cover significant cost increases it has experienced to produce the gas as a result of softening steel production and in an effort to meet continued strong demand.
The company says it expects to continue its ongoing regional surcharge and cost recovery efforts related to increases in both diesel fuel and feedstock costs it experiences in specific areas.
