Air Products has announced that it is to build a new large air separation unit (LASU) in Ulsan, South Korea.
The investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to the southern region and across Korea to meet increasing demand.
Ulsan is an industrial powerhouse for the country and home to many sectors including oil refining, automobile production, and shipbuilding
Air Products has been supplying the region for nearly 30 years and has built a pipeline system and gas facilities in Ulsan’s large non-ferrous metals complex and Yongyeon’s petrochemical complex.
It is understood that this latest investment will enable the company to produce extra oxygen (O) and nitrogen (N) to meet increasing needs.
Daesung Industrial Gases, one of the biggest players in South Korea’s industrial gases market, is reportedly the subject of an auction process that would see the Goldman Sachs Group relinquish its controlling stake in the company.
Industrial gas giant Air Products has released its latest Sustainability Report which reveals the company exceeded nearly all its 2015 environmental sustainability goals.
