Air Products pipeline commercialised, long-term contracts signed

Air Products, and its subsidiary Air Products Canada Ltd., has announced that its Heartland Hydrogen Pipeline in Alberta, Canada has been commercialised and is supplying product to customers linked to the 30-mile pipeline.

Air Products also announced two additional long-term supply contracts off the pipeline, with Dow Chemical Canada ULC and Evonik Degussa Canada Inc.

“We’re very pleased that this pipeline is on-stream and we have an established source of feed for the Heartland region’s increasing industrial demand for hydrogen. Hydrogen is a major feedstock for bitumen upgrading and refining and is very important in enabling the production of cleaner burning transportation fuels,” commented Steve Losby, General Manager–Canada at Air Products.

“We located the pipeline in this region to support the continued operation and development of multiple industries in the area. We are very pleased to add both Dow and Evonik Degussa to the companies being supplied from this hydrogen pipeline.”
