Air Products has installed two onsite PRISM® generation systems in France. The systems have been installed at the Toray Industries’ facility as part of a move to drive efficiency and provide a reliable source of nitrogen.
Toray, an international biotech and polymer manufacturer, develops thermoplastic compounds which are used to manufacture high performance plastics for food packaging. Nitrogen is needed to ensure a reduced-oxygen atmosphere and in doing so minimise the risk of fire to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
The two PRISM® HPN generators include an associated oxygen monitoring and control system. While the new units underwent a comprehensive Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAACP) assessment to ensure compliance with EU food hygiene regulations.
Stephane Denis-Delobel, Air Products’ Bulk Sales Manager for France, said, “Having a source of nitrogen onsite is not only a cost-efficient solution for many moderate and high volume users, it also brings significant peace of mind by ensuring that gas supplies are continuously available, throughout the day and night.”
She continued, “By opting for a bespoke gas generation solution, Toray Industries is demonstrating its uncompromising approach to health and safety management.”
