Air Products has been presented the “2015 Best Brand Image Award” for the second consecutive year in recognition of its public image and brand influence in China.
Air Products was among 40 leading companies from various industries, including Unilever, Shiseido and Haier, receiving the recognition at the 4th China Finance Summit held in Beijing on July 22.
Launched in 2012, the China Finance Summit is an annual event focusing on the country’s macro economy and finance industry and is co-organized by mainstream media to share business wisdom and explore the driving force of China’s economic transformation and development. Attendees include leaders from the media, financial institutions, and multinational and local corporations. The theme of this year was “Business Wisdom and Innovative Exploration Under the New Normal.” China.com, Chinanews.com, cn.Reuters.com, Hexun.com, Shaanxi Satellite TV, PR Newswire, China Trade News, Asian Business Leaders and Manager Magazine were among the 30 plus co-organizing local business and general media.

The judging panel comprises representatives from research institutes, consulting firms, academia and the media. Candidates are judged based on six criteria – company culture, social contribution, innovation capability, financial growth, brand influence and industry position, with particular focus on the future leading role that a company would play within its industry in driving the economic growth of China.

Apart from this most recent award, the company was rated among the “Top 100 Ideal Employers” by natural sciences talents in China for the three consecutive years (2013-2015), named a “Corporate Citizen Role Model” and granted the “2013 Green Chemical Award” by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation in recognition of its outstanding performance in sustainability.
On corporate social responsibility, Air Products has been initiating and actively taking part in a variety of programs and activities to promote sustainability. These include the LIN (liquid nitrogen) Ambassador Program to demonstrate to local schools and communities the application of gas science in our daily life through experiments; participation in the REACH (Resiliency Education: Advocacy Collaboration & Hope) program to develop teenagers at middle schools in Shanghai through non-traditional subjects; scholarship programs in nearly 10 leading universities; driving technology development to support sustainable industrial growth; and sponsorship of China’s 2013 National University Chemistry Video Contest to advocate green gas technologies among the young generation.
