Air Products’ releases its 2010 Sustainability Report using new G3 guidelines.
For the first time, Air Products’ annual Sustainability Report was prepared using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 guidelines. GRI is a voluntary framework used by organizations worldwide to measure and report economic, environmental and social performance.
Pat Loughlin, Vice President of Environment Health Safety and Quality and Chair of Air Products’ Sustainability Council, noted, “By adopting the GRI framework in our reporting this year, our goal is to provide the information of most significance to our stakeholders so they can more easily locate and assess our sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities.”
Access to the report can be gained via the company website. It is available in electronic format through an interactive PDF and clickable GRI Index.
The report outlines the company’s priorities, key accomplishments and challenges regarding sustainability. Specific updates include performance against emissions, energy, waste and water targets; employee safety, diversity and inclusion, as well as training initiatives; in addition to stakeholder engagement, including community involvement and customer relationships.
During the report, company Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, John McGlade, specifically states, “As our potential growth opportunities have strengthened, so too has our commitment to drive continued improvements in our own sustainability performance.”
