Air Products has signed a contract to supply France-based IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN) with analytical gases primarily via its CryoEase® microbulk solution service.
Under the three-year agreement, Air Products will deliver 200 bar bottles and 300 bar frames to cover the needs of IFPEN’s sites in Rueil-Malmaison near Paris and Solaize near Lyon.
But for IFPEN’s permanent high-purity gas requirements, Air Products will supply gas via its CryoEase service, which replaces the need for gas cylinders.
In the Tier One’s microbulk solution, gas is stored in a small, onsite tank that is regularly filled with a purpose-designed CryoEase truck. The onsite installation of these liquid gas buffer tanks guarantees a constant, uninterrupted supply of product at desired purities at the correct pressures.
Tank sizes range from 230-2,000 litres and gas can be supplied in either liquid or gaseous form via a network that is directly connected to the point-of-use. Air Products will closely monitor consumption levels with its drivers then returning to refill the tanks automatically.
This development is said to be in line with both parties’ common efforts towards sustainable developments in reducing the environmental impact of gas deliveries.
Christophe Buisine, Business Manager of Air Products in France, explained that this contract supports Air Products’ sustainable development strategy and its efforts made to reduce its number of miles travelled delivering packaged gases in the European country.
